The Japan External Trade
Organization (JETRO) is a government-related organization
that works to promote mutual trade and investment between
Japan and the rest of the world. Originally established
in 1958 to promote Japanese exports abroad, JETRO's core
focus in the 21st century has shifted towards promoting
foreign direct investment into Japan and helping small to
medium size Japanese firms maximize their global export
potential. JETRO Outsourcing Fair for IT Software
2005 (J-OFIS 2005) was one of the principal events
in the calendar of JETRO.
JNine IT, the only Sri Lankan software company in Japan,
was one of the participants of the J-OFIS 2005, which was
held on the 25th – 27th January 2005 at the JETRO
Exhibition Hall in Akasaka, Tokyo. During exhibition time,
services and products of JNine IT were
opened for Japanese software companies and the exhibition
halls were covered with 53 IT booths from 12 different countries.
Graphics and Web Designs, Business Applications (Standalone/Client
Server) and Web (e-Commerce) Applications were displayed
and discussed with the representatives of the Japanese software
companies at the stall in order to interact with IT industry
in Japan.
A tremendous support and encouragement for this event was
given by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tokyo under the assistance
of His Excellency the Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Karunathilake
Amunugama.
